Boy, 9, Killed In Hit-And-Run Crash In Orange

ORANGE (CNS/FOX 11) - An investigation was underway Friday into the death of a 9-year-old boy struck by a vehicle whose driver left the scene in Orange.

Broadcast reports said the driver was pursued and held by witnesses, but Orange police Sgt. Sean O'Toole said he was unable to confirm this.

"It's an ongoing investigation,'' O'Toole said.

The accident occurred at 9:30 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of North Glassell Street and East Taft Avenue according to the California Highway Patrol.

The driver of the vehicle was detained, Lt. Fred Lopez said.
