Surveillance video shows former MLB prospect Vasquez attack fiancee

A Pennsylvania minor league baseball team has cut ties with an outfielder after the Corpus Christi Police Department released a video of a domestic violence incident for which the player completed a probationary sentence.

The Lancaster Barnstormers of the independent Atlantic League announced on the team's Facebook page on Tuesday that the team had released 24-year-old Danry Vasquez.

KRIS-TV first obtained the video from Aug. 2, 2016 that shows an apparent violent incident that involved a man attacking his fiancee in a stairwell at Whataburger Field, the stadium home of the Double-A Corpus Christi Hooks. Vasquez is a former prospect for the Houston Astros system.

Major League Baseball suspended Vasquez indefinitely following the 2016 incident, but independent leagues are not subject to the authority of the MLB.

FOX News and FOX 26 News have since obtained the apparent domestic violence incident video through an open records request.
