American Pharoah Wins First Triple Crown Victory In 37 Years

 NEW YORK (AP) -- American Pharoah has won the Triple Crown.

He was the 13th horse to try to win the prize since Affirmed in 1978. The Kentucky Derby and the Preakness winner took on seven rivals in the 147th running of the Belmont Stakes in New York this evening.

His trainer is Hall of Famer Bob Baffert. Jockey Victor Espinoza rode American Pharoah.
