MIRA LOMA (FOX 11) -- Found in the middle of a busy street, presumed dead, A Good Samaritan made a U-turn to remove what he believed to be a dead dog from the center of the road on his way to work.
By God's Grace and thanks to David Loop who scooped her up and rushed this little Maltese to a vet and she lives! But, she was hospitalized in rough condition with a broken femur and pelvis.
Good Samaritans don't always come with pockets lined with gold. This one acted on instinct in responding to his heart.
DASH CAM VIDEO ON LOOP'S WAY TO WORK
What happened in his words:
'This morning on my way to work I passed a poor little dog in the middle of Rubidoux Blvd that had been hit by a vehicle, I did a U turn and picked her up and moved her to the side of the road, as I was saying a silent prayer for this precious life I was about to leave and I saw her eyes blink so I ran back to my car and grabbed a litter pan and put her in it and rushed her to my vet, as I rushed inside they greeted me and got us to an exam room immediately!
She is still breathing, her eyes are blinking more and she tried to lift her head, she started whining and my heart melted, literally melted in my chest, I thought for sure she was dead when I stopped and then I thought for sure that we would have to put her down as soon as I arrived at the vet.. she is not out of the woods yet, it is about 50/50 if she will make it, even without doing X-Ray yet it is obvious she has a broken femur, please say prayers for this little baby I am naming Miracle, please pray that she does not have head trauma and that she will survive.

"I asked the Lord to give me wisdom to know if it's her time. I also asked God to please don't take my miracle away from me," Loop said. "Later I saw she had made incredible improvement on Saturday. She was alert and climbed up into my lap. I knew then she was going to make it."
"When she blinked at me, I said 'Oh Lord,' it's a miracle," Loop said. "I named her 'Miracle.'
