LAPD Sargent Dennis Kato says 44-year-old Andi Gusmari walked into a police station in Hayward, CA some 365 miles away early Monday.
Gusmari is an Albanian bowler who participated in the Special Olympics World Games.
Police have been searching for Guzman since he went missing from the USC campus around 8:30 p.m. Saturday. He had been categorized as a "critical missing" because of his medical issues.
Kato says Gusmari walked into a police station in Hayward, which is just outside of San Francisco. They don't know how he got there, but believed he walked in because he was hungry and wanted shelter.
He was safe and unhurt, police said. Gusmari doesn't speak English and has a speech impediment so officers have not been able to ask him how he got there.
The Albanian delegation flew out of LAX on Sunday.
The police are in contact with Special Olympics personnel to get him reunited with his family.
