Los Angeles County officials are asking for a temporary ban on raves, this after two young woman died at a Pomona Festival.
The proposal to temporarily ban raves is expected to brought in during Tuesday's day-long Board of Supervisors meeting. The coroner identified one victim as 19-year-old Katie Dix of Camarillo. The other woman was 18-year-old Tracey Nguyen of West Covina. The UCLA Student seen in this You-Tube video, vacationing with family.
Both women were found unresponsive Saturday, at the "Hard Summer" music Festival, which was held at the Pomona Fairplex.
A young woman died of a drug overdose at last year's event, in Whittier Narrows.
Supervisor Solis says the board must review safety measures placed on raves in 20-10... After the overdose of a 15-year-old girl at the "Electric Daisy Carnival" at the Coliseum. These festivals bring in Millions of dollars! But, have been known to be place people being and use illegal drugs.
Statistics from Beacon Economics show last year's "Hard Summer" festival brought in 13 million dollars.
