Judge: Bill Cosby Sexual Assault Deposition Must Happen By Sept. 30

(FOX 11) A judge in Santa Monica said Tuesday that he will set a date by the end of the week for comedian Bill Cosby to give a deposition in a civil case filed by a woman who says she was sexually assaulted by Cosby at the Playboy Mansion in 1974 when she was just 15.

Gloria Allred, attorney for Judith Huth, told FOX 11 the judge ordered that the deposition, to be given under oath, will come no later than September 30.

"We are going to get him on record," said Allred. "We are going to be very vigorous in our questioning of Mr. Cosby and we do expect his attorneys will make as many objections as legally appropriate."

Just last week, the California Supreme Court denied a request to review a lawsuit against Cosby, paving the way for the comedian to be deposed in the civil suit filed by Huth.

"I would like to ask him about a number of the other accusers because I believe it shows, or it could prove, a pattern and practice of Mr. Cosby or his motives," Allred added when asked if she would question Cosby about the other accusers who have come forward with assault allegations.

Many of the accusers are clients of Allred’s and many of them appeared on the recent cover of New York Magazine, which showed 35 women who have come forward and one empty chair.

"I thought it was a very powerful cover, a very beautiful cover, very compelling," Allred told FOX 11. "I was moved, not only by the women’s courage of the women who appeared, but also by that empty chair. That empty chair represents the many women who have made accusations against Bill Cosby and who have not yet come forward. It is very empowering for any woman who has been raped by anyone and who have not been able to speak out before."
