He blew through several red lights on surface streets and then hit the freeways. And he hit speeds over 115 miles an hour as he raced across the southland racing across parts of eight freeways!
They couldn't pit him and they couldn't lay a spike strip.
So, the CHP just let him go and didn't even try to keep up with their cruisers.
Instead they let their chopper track the motorcycle.
Finally after about 90 minutes he apparently runs out of gas. So, he pulls over on the eastbound 91 near the grand avenue off-ramp.
Takes off his helmet and jacket and just waits to be arrested!!
And to tell you how far ahead of the ground units he was -- he stood there for about five minutes.
Then, as the first car pulled up he gets down on the pavement -- arms and legs spread -- until the CHP cuffed him and took him away.
