Greater-Alarm Fire Burns Through Commercial Building In South LA

(FOX 11 / CNS) A greater-alarm fire damaged a commercial building in South Los Angeles today, but no one was hurt, authorities said.

The fire in the 11600 block of South Main Street was reported about 7:35a.m., said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

More than 100 firefighters extinguished the flames in about an hour and20 minutes, Humphrey said.

Investigators were seeking the cause of the fire, which apparently began outside the single-story building and spread to the structure, Humphrey said.

A damage estimate was not immediately available.
