Two Trapped In Multi-Vehicle Crash On PCH In Malibu

MALIBU (CNS/FOX 11) - A county fire truck and another vehicle crashed Saturday on Pacific Coast Highway in western Malibu, and rescuers used hydraulic extrication tools and a helicopter to help the victims.

The crashed was called in the by stricken fire truck's crew at 12:25 p.m., from PCH at Paradise Cove road, about six miles west of the Malibu Civic Center. Fire Dispatch Supervisor Robert Diaz confirmed the location.

Two people were trapped in the wreckage. One person had serious injuries, and the second was critically hurt, according to county paramedics talking on radios.

An air rescue helicopter landed at Pepperdine University and took the two most-serious victims to UCLA.

By 1:15 p.m., traffic was getting past the crash on one out of the five lanes.
