Wild Stolen Car Pursuit Ends in Azusa With 3 Suspects In Custody

WEST COVINA (CNS) - A pursuit of a stolen car from West Covina to Azusa was a dangerous high speed affair that went through several San Gabriel Valley cities today before coming to an end.

For the first part of the pursuit which began about 3 p.m., the driver blew through several red lights, went on the wrong side of several streets, and even went up on a lawn and sidewalk before hitting the westbound Foothill (210) Freeway at about 100 mph.

Three occupants got out of the car and ran in separate directions after the car smashed into a utility pole about an hour after the chase began.

Two of three suspects were captured shortly after the Pontiac Grand Prix smashed into a utility pole. The third suspect was later found hiding in a shed by a police dog. That suspect was taken to the hospital for treatment for a dog bite.
