It didn't really. There were flurries off and on. Cassie West says "it was big and fluffy."
It was pretty too. So much so, shop owners are hopeful the snow might attract a few more shoppers this weekend.
Darla Mullot owns La Muse Vintage Boutique. She says "I love it cause we need the water and the rain. Our lakes are a little dry this year and... It's Mother's Day!"
The local newspaper says some light snow around Mother's Day isn't unusual, although what was coming down was probably a little more than light. Some, actually, wished it had not snowed like Monica Monroe. She works at The Jerky Shop. "I honestly don't like it," she says, "It's really cold, but it does attract a lot of the tourists."
Local resorts here have closed for the season. Down the way in Wrightwood same story. But, Mammoth may be the biggest beneficiary of the snow. Their resorts were preparing to close, but after a fresh foot and a half, they decided to stay open another week. Good news for skiers.
