From Sandra Endo:

After a 19 day streak of increasing gas prices, finally a little relief. Today, a decrease of a tenth of a cent in gas prices here in Los Angeles, and a sixth of a cent in Orange County.

Overall, prices rose 70.6 cents in the area during the streak and drivers certainly felt the pain and the pump.

Driver Jose Ayala says "it just kept going up and up and up it's hard, there's no way around it."

One driver dropped 70 dollars to fill up her tank in Santa Monica, she says she thinks twice before getting behind the wheel, "I drive to work and back home and that's it," says Robin Fuduli. "I rather spend my money on other things than gas."

The average price for a gallon of regular in LA is $3.83 and $3.18 in Orange County. The national average is $2.63. The in-state oil refinery problems along with the rising cost of crude oil are the reason for the higher costs in the Southland.
