Man Arrested In Kidnap, Repeated Rape Of Woman Held In Home

ARCADIA (CNS/FOX 11) - A man suspected of kidnapping and repeatedly sexually assaulting a woman in the Arcadia area was arrested Wednesday night.

The 25-year-old woman was abducted around 3 a.m. while walking in the area of Longden Avenue and Peck Roads in an unincorporated area near Arcadia, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Deputy Tina Schrader said.

Schrader said the victim was carried to the suspect's car, then driven to his home near the intersection of Longden and 10th Street, where she was repeatedly assaulted.

The victim managed to briefly escape the residence and raise the alarm with a neighbor before being dragged back inside, Schrader said.

The neighbor called police, Schrader said. When deputies arrived at the address around 2 p.m. they heard a woman screaming, LASD Sgt Julie Geary said.

The suspect fled the house through a side window, Schrader said.

The suspect was identified as 29-year-old Philippe Lutete.

Schrader said Lutete was free on bond after a previous arrest for a similar offense.

Lutete was arrested in the backyard of a residence in the 2800 block of South Mayflower Avenue around 930-9:45 p.m., Schrader said.
