LA Mission Brings Easter To The Homeless With Annual Good Friday Event

(FOX 11 / CNS) The Los Angeles Mission is hosting its annual Good Friday Easter event. The mission, along with celebrities and elected officials, will serve nearly 4,000 meals, provide Easter baskets with toys to children and hygiene kits for adults, distribute 2,000 pairs of donated Etnies brand shoes and wash the feet of the homeless.

City Councilman Mitch O'Farrell and former Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa will also attend. Food preparation and shoe set-up will begin at 4:30 a.m. in the mission's kitchen and dining area; breakfast served to overnight and mission guests at 5 a.m.; breakfast will be served to those waiting in line outside at 6 a.m.; street closes to traffic at 7 a.m.; celebrity arrivals at 10:45 a.m.; food service begins at 11 a.m.; foot washing and Easter basket distribution begins at 11:15 a.m.
