Possible Drive-By Suspect Shot By Inglewood Police

(FOX 11 / CNS) An Inglewood police officer today shot someone who may have been involved in an earlier shooting, news videographers reported.

The officer-involved shooting occurred at Arbor Vitae Street and Ash Avenue about 1:20 a.m, they said.

One videographer said the man shot by the police officer may have been suspected of shooting another man. "No police officers were hurt and there are no outstanding suspects,'' Inglewood police Lt. G. Held told City News Service.

At least three people were detained for questioning by police, a news videographer reported. The condition of the suspect or the wounded victim were not immediately reported.

Detectives are piecing together the series of events which led to an officer involved shooting in Inglewood.

It happened around 1:20am monday, when police were in the area and heard gunshots, they responded to 95th street and Ash Avenue where they believe a drive by shooting occurred.

Then an inglewood officer opened fire, a gun was retrieved from the scene.

One person was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound, it's unclear if it's the shooter or the victim of the drive by. Four other suspects are in custody for questioning

Police say no officers were injured and no suspects are at large.
