Suspect Damages 9 Parked Cars During Police Chase Through South LA

(FOX 11) A suspect was taken into custody Sunday after crashing into nearly a dozen parked vehicles and causing serious damage in South Los Angeles.

Police said a total of nine cars were damaged in a domino effect when the suspect crashed into them Sunday morning at Central and 95th streets.

Officers began chasing the suspect after receiving reports that the vehicle was stolen, police said. After crashing into the parked vehicles, he fled the scene and was eventually taken into custody.

Sheryl Bernard's 2001 Mustang was badly damaged. She was in church right before the accident happened.

"I come home and my car is basically totaled," Bernard said. "Ya know, my father gave me that car and he just passed away a couple of months ago, and I'm just devastated now."

Despite all the wreckage, no injuries were reported.
