Miguel's body was located that night. Investigators from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department were never able to arrest a suspect.
Over these past 29 years, Miguel's killer could have died or gone to prison or left Southern California. Whatever the explanation, there has never been another crime in the area that could be connected to Miguel's kidnapping and murder.
It is still very likely that there are witnesses who might be able to provide critical information to detectives at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Bureau. It's also likely that the person who murdered Miguel has talked about the crime to people he trusts.
After nearly three decades, it is time to speak up, especially if the killer is dead.
Anyone with any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, should contact Detective Tom Kerfoot at (323) 890-5500 as soon as possible.
