RELATED | Katie Leclerc And Vanessa Marano Discuss Being 'Switched At Birth'
The show is set in Kansas City, and revolves around two teens who were switched at birth and grew up in very different situations: one in the wealthy suburb of Mission Hills, Kansas, and the other in working-class East Riverside, Missouri.
The "Switched at Birth" debut was ABC Family's highest-rated series debut to date.
Marano, who stars at Bay Kennish, has also landed reoccurring roles in shows like "Without a Trace," "Gilmore Girls" and "The Young and the Restless." She is a Los Angeles native and began acting professional at age 7.
Leclerc plays Daphne Vasque, a deaf teenager. While she's not deaf in real life, she suffers from a condition called Ménière's disease which does cause intermittent hearing loss. She uses an accent on "Switched at Birth" to emphasize Daphne's hearing loss.
"Switched at Birth" airs at 9 p.m. Tuesdays on ABC Family.
