Garth is an ambassador for The Heart Foundation, and has also joined forces with Dr. P.K. Shah, a cardiologist and director of the Heart Institute at Cadars-Sinai Medical Center.

Jennie discovered she has a condition known as "leaky heart valve." As a patient of  Shah's, she has joined him in becoming a passionate advocate for healthy living and annual check-ups.

Some of her top tips on eating healthy foods (as shared in the Jan. 2013 issue of Health Magazine):

  • Swap Fage yogurt for sour cream or mayo. "I make this chicken dish that you're supposed to coat in mayonnaise, but I use Fage. My kids didn't even know!"
  • Her 173-calorie breakfast of Greek yogurt plus slivered almonds and whole oats.
  • Her two-step dinner of Salmon with Balsamic onions. Jennie shares, "I love making salmon with balsamic onions. There's something so tangy and sweet about it."
