Power Restored At LAX Baggage Terminals After Bird Hits Power Line

LOS ANGELES (CNS/FOX 11) - A bird flew into a high-voltage power line serving Los Angeles International Airport Friday, affecting some baggage and conveyance systems at five terminals, but not impacting any flights, authorities said.

It happened about 6:45 a.m., and caused a power surge that required crews to reset the systems in Terminals 2, 4, 7, 8, and the Tom Bradley International Terminal, according to an LAX spokesperson.

Affected were some systems for conveying baggage, as well as some escalators and walkways, authorities said.

All systems were back in service by about 10 a.m., authorities said.
