The chase started just after 4 p.m. Officials said the suspect, driving a gray Scion with a female passenger, was believed to be carrying a large amount of narcotics and considered "armed and dangerous."
The left front tire was down to the rim after police used a spike strip to stop the vehicle. At about 5 p.m., California Highway Patrol deputies used a PIT maneuver to ultimately stop the vehicle.
Both the driver and passenger surrendered without incident.
The pursuit reportedly reached speeds up to 70 miles per hour.
