Kevin Costner Tackles Race In 'Black Or White'

(FOX 11) Academy award winner Kevin Costner stars in the new movie "Black or White" alongside Octavia Spencer, Anthony Mackie and Jillian Estell.

The film, which is currently showing in theaters, tells the story of a grandfather (Costner) who is suddenly left to care for his granddaughter (Estell). When her grandmother (Spencer) seeks custody, the little girl is torn between two families who love her -- and they are all forced to confront real issues about about race and forgiveness.

"Anchored by an all-star cast and based on real events, the movie is a look at two seemingly different worlds, in which nothing is as simple as black or white," the movie synopsis reads.

Costner has a whole shelf of awards, including two Academy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards and one Emmy Award.

He is celebrated by audiences everywhere for his roles in "The Untouchables," "Field of Dreams," "Dances with Wolves," "JFK," "The Bodyguard," "Man of Steel" and "Hatfield's and McCoys."
