6.0-M earthquake strikes off Japan coast, 180 miles from Fukushima nuclear plant

An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0 earthquake struck Friday morning in Japan, 158 miles from Ishinomaki , according to the US Geological Service.

There were no initial reports of damage or injury, but the quake struck in the ocean about 180 miles from the Fukushima nuclear plant. The plant was destroyed in March 2011 by a 9.0 magnitude earthquake and subsequent tsunami.
