From Christine O'Donnell:

Fifty-thousand dollars in gold was stolen from a safe inside the home of Grammy-winning producer Toby Gad, according to LAPD detectives.

Gad is best known as the co-writer of the John Legend hit "All of Me."

Detective Raymond Conboy says police got the burglary call around 4:00 Monday night. He's says Gad's wife came home to find $50-55,000 in gold coins and cash had been stolen by burglars that cracked a safe inside their home on Wonder View Drive.

The nearly $2 Million dollar home is in the process of being remodeled. Conboy says his investigators are looking to see if that's how the thieves got inside. The home has been sealed off as detectives searched for evidence left behind by the culprits. Possible DNA evidence was found on Gad's car in the garage.

Gad says he's surprised thieves were able to break the safe.

"It was opened and broken. We never thought a safe like this would be broken that easy. It looked like a very solid safe. All the gold we had in their was taken. So, not so good," Gad said.

Some of his other hits include "Big Girls Don't Cry" by Fergie and "If I Were a Boy" by Beyonce.

The investigation is ongoing.
