Singer Chris Brown Is Victim Of Home Invasion Robbery, Aunt Locked In Closet

(FOX 11 / CNS) A female relative of singer Chris Brown was locked in a closet during a home invasion robbery of his residence in Tarzana early today,
Los Angeles police said. An officer at the West Valley Division said the woman was Brown's aunt, and that the house -- in the 19600 block of Citrus Ridge Drive -- belonged to Brown.

The break-in was reported about 2 a.m. the officer said. The victim was not injured, LAPD Lt. Kirk Kelley said. Some property was taken, Kelley told reporters at the scene, but he did not specify whether it was cash or other goods.

The LAPD officer said the victim told officers at the scene she heard a "commotion" outside the house, and when she opened a door investigate, three
men forced their way in. The suspects were armed, the officer said. All three were masked, Kelley said.
The victim, the sole occupant of the residence, was locked in a closet during the robbery, the officer said. It was not clear how long the victim remained in the closet, or the duration of the robbery.

Kelley said police had no description of the suspects. "This is a secluded home on a hillside," Kelley said of Brown's residence. "We're trying to see if there was any video that may have picked up the suspects." Police notified Brown of the robbery, Kelley said.

Brown arrived at the scene with a large group of people around 2:55a.m., a videographer at the scene said. The group arrived in vehicles including a Bentley, a Ferrari and a Mercedes, the videographer said. Another videographer said Brown then left his residence and drove to apartments on the 11500 block of Burbank Boulevard about 4.15 a.m. Brown was at the apartment complex for about 10 minutes, with an armed security guard posted in front, he said.
