Greyhound Bus Crashes In San Bernardino

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A Greyhound bus bound for Los Angeles crashed in San Bernardino after a passenger grabbed the steering wheel, according to broadcast reports.

Just before 3 p.m., the bus that originated in Phoenix went into a ditch on the westbound 10 Freeway east of Waterman Avenue.

There were 23 people on board and five of them were taken to local hospitals with minor to moderate injuries, Greyhound spokeswoman Lanesha Gipson told CIty News Service.

The uninjured passengers were to be taken to their destination on another bus, she said.

The passenger who grabbed the wheel fled the scene of the crash, but later was found in the parking lot of a nearby Olive Garden restaurant and taken into custody.
