U.S. Immigration Department to resume DACA application renewals

(FOX 11) - The U.S. Immigration Department says it's going to resume accepting DACA renewals.

And those renewal applications will be accepted until further notice.

A statement on Sunday also says the program that shields young immigrants from deportation will be operated the same way it was before the Trump administration rescinded it last September.

This comes after a federal judge in California issued an injunction forcing the program to resume.

Meanwhile, a new CBS news poll shows that 70 percent of Americans are in favor of the program to protect young dreamers.
