Suspect shot and killed from Police helicopter after chase on 215 Freeway

DEVORE, CA (FOX 11) - A sheriff's deputy sharp shooter in a helicopter shot and killed a suspect on the 215 Freeway in Devore, in San Bernardino County. The suspect was wanted in connection with a home invasion in Fontana, then led police on a high-speed pursuit and ended up on the freeway going the wrong way.

The suspect bailed out of his car while it was still moving, and that's when the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Deputy in the helicopter shot and killed him. The suspect's car crashed into another car.

Three people were transported to the hospital.

All northbound lanes of the 215 Freeway near the Devore exit are closed while police conduct the investigation.
