A mother and daughter were arrested after Orange County sheriff's deputies found 130 pounds of marijuana in the trunk of their car.

The stop led to an investigation, which the Mebane Police Department and a K-9 investigator assisted with. The K-9 officer alerted officers to the smell of illegal drugs coming from the car.

Authorities then searched the car based on probable cause and found about 130 pounds of marijuana, valued at approximately $500,000.
