LOS ANGELES, Calif. (FOX 11) - The LA County Sheriff's Department is mourning a K9 who died after complications during a medical procedure.
The department shared a photo of the dog named Tess on Facebook, along with a sweet note.
They wrote, "Our dearest Tess, we miss seeing you rocket out of the truck, ready to work. We miss your waggily tail, toothy smile and high energy. We just miss you. Thank you for your hard work, diligence and dedication. We were lucky to have you with us, even if only for a little while. Xena, Copper and Ox are here now and will ensure your sniff-technology continues."
Tess joined the K9 Detail team in November 2014 and was certified in explosives training and trailing.
She passed away shortly before her second birthday.
