(FOX 11) - Gucci the Italian luxury brand recently released 'pre-distressed' sneakers labeled as vintage.
They are purposely made to look dirty, but believe it or not, Gucci actually provides cleaning instructions in case the high-priced shoes actually get dirty?
They aren't cheap.
It will set you back a whopping $870!
The Gucci Screener Leather Sneaker for men comes in three varieties, and are supposed to resemble a pair of shoes from the 70s.
The company also made a pearly white version for women that is a little cheaper, $790.
And Twitterverse wasn't impressed!
Twitter user Jenifer Abreu posted:
Are these dirty or are they stylish? Nw Gucci shoes cost $900. The company says they’re vintage, but potential customers online saying. They just look dirty. pic.twitter.com/8hUlmuIaUo— Jenifer Abreu (@jeniferabreutv) March 20, 2019
So I need to pay Gucci $870 to dirty up my shoes, when I can do it myself for free? 🤔🧐— J. Rock (@FocusedJ) March 20, 2019
I guess rich people pay good money for dirty shoes. Wait, distressed shoes.— Sid Balachandran (@iwrotethose) March 20, 2019
PS: The 'shoe care' section says to use only neutral or same colours to avoid 'over staining'. Yeah, because that's the real problem with this shoe.#Gucci#FashionContinuesToBaffleMe pic.twitter.com/pv4KbRgGdi
