Gettin' punny with entertainment reporter Amanda Salas

- Amanda Salas is as hardworking and smart as she is punny!

In fact, when she's not reporting from the red carpet at a movie premiere for FOX 11, she's a "punsultant."

Amanda joined me on Olympic & Bundy to talk about her background -- which involves a mix of entertainment, cars and puns.

After realizing she could come up with clever captions and hashtags, she smartly decided to monetize her unique skill. By combining her love of puns with consulting, her online side hustle was born -- known as punsulting.

She's even delved into the world of pun competitions, joining other punslingers on stage in the art of wordplay.

Born in New York and raised in Las Vegas, she focused on theater in high school and also enjoyed journalism and storytelling. Upon graduation, she moved to California with a dream of hosting.

She enrolled at Cal State Long Beach, where she focused on theater arts, directing and even hosted a "What's Up, Beach?" news channel.

After college, she landed a job hosting "The Juice," an online entertainment web series by the Orange County Register. She was able to get a taste of Hollywood, interviewing some of the OC Housewives, covering Kim Kardashian's Halloween party and more.

She's also always had a love of cars and could tell you any make and model in a parking lot. She's done several automotive hosting gigs in her career, including jobs with AutoTrader, WheelsTV and Speed TV network.

Amanda later brought her puns to the entertainment news show "Hollywood Today Live," and eventually, to FOX 11 as an entertainment reporter.

Her story on an "IT" movie haunted house that opened in Hollywood recently went viral with 13 million views and counting.
