Daniel is ready to play ball with a forever family

As the hazy, lazy days of Summer 2017 start to wind down, we decided it was a perfect time to scoop up this week’s Wednesday’s Child – Daniel (2002) -- and head down to Chavez Ravine for a little ball park fun!

One can often find Daniel wearing a tee-shirt and ball cap – whether he’s lounging around or on a hike – so it was just a matter of donning a tee and cap in Dodger blue and Daniel was ready for his first-time hanging at Dodger Stadium!

Daniel was almost a bit dazed when trying to take in the bird’s eye view of all that is Dodger Stadium before making his way down to the field to watch batting practice.  Daniel took advantage of his meet-and-greet time with former-player-turned Dodger manager Dave Roberts, coach Manny Mota and second-generation Dodger, outfielder Joc Pederson.  Daniel had his cap and baseball at the ready to ensure getting some autographs.  Daniel was also generous to us with some of his time and attention as we chatted about where he is in the game of life while weaving among Dodger players, managers and fans alike.

Daniel is a friendly and engaging youth who presents with bit of a skater-vibe mixed with an artsy side, which is no surprise since he likes to draw but puts in more time practicing tricks and techniques on his board at the skate park.  Daniel receives special support services to help him stay on task and complete his work at school.  Daniel does show an enthusiasm towards learning new things, which was evident as he wandered around the “Dodger hall of fame” and noted some of their historic players and championships.

Back in his field-level seat for the game, Daniel was ready to take on another tradition affiliated with visits to Dodger Stadium … the Dodger Dog! And while the Dodger dogs met Daniel’s immediate hunger need during his afternoon of meet-and-greets (and eats!) at the ball park, we remain focused on getting his bigger need of being part of a permanent family team met soon.
