Halloween is right around the corner and to complete the Fall season’s ensemble, Alicia (2009) and Vincent (2015), siblings in foster care, went on the hunt for the perfect pumpkin.
What better place to go than to Pa’s Pumpkin Patch in Long Beach, CA for gourds AND pony rides!!!
Not a fan of sporting activities, Alicia enjoys jumping rope, running, swimming and playing at the park with her brother. Alicia is quite active and opens to new experiences. Alicia wishes that some day she will go to Disney Land and Magic Mountain. Alicia receives extra attention at school and perhaps, for this reason, she hopes to be a school teacher when she grows up. The quieter side of her enjoys teddy bears. She has a collection of them where she organizes them just as she did with the pile of pumpkins she selected. As a big sister, she is affectionate, attentive and nurturing to little brother, Vincent.
With the love, nurturance and protection of big sister, Vincent is personable, loving, carefree and affectionate. At home, Vincent enjoys playing with the family’s dog and loves playing in the water, although he isn’t able to swim yet. Vincent can get frustrated in communicating his needs at times and can be easily redirected by hugs and reassurances through the use of a calming and loving voice.
Together as a team, these sister and brother picked out their perfect pumpkin. It wasn’t the size of the pumpkin that mattered – they were looking for one that fits just right. Likewise, our hunt for the “perfect” family for this adorable duo is not the one with the biggest home in a certain neighborhood but rather, the best fit for these little “pumpkins” to grow and thrive.
