We first met sisters Avianna (2002) and Apples (2006) a little over a year ago as they spent some “together time” at Color Me Mine talking about things like their favorite TV shows and actresses, etc.
As fortune would have it, our continuing efforts to find the forever home that fits them recently took us to the Pasadena Playhouse where one of their favorite actresses (Lauren Taylor from Disney’s Best Friends Whenever) and others such as Morgan Fairchild were in tech rehearsal preparing for the opening night of A Cinderella Christmas.
Avianna is a very amicable, sweet and talkative girl who enjoys watching television, playing card games, drawing, doing arts and crafts, and playing handball. Avianna feels that she has to work harder than others in order to maintain good grades but despite having to work harder, she understands the value of a good education. Avianna wants to be a nurse someday to help others. Avianna is of Romanian descent and speaks some Greek.
When we met the girls last year, it was evident early on that Apples has a bubbly personality. Apples loves engaging in conversation and really immerses herself in the activities in which she participates. Apples is expressing an interest in becoming an actress someday, so it only seemed fitting to have her try her hand – or in this case, foot – at stepping onto the stage and into a scene as Cinderella for a glass-slipper-fitting.
Being a good parent doesn’t require the skills of a Fairy Godmother, and more apropos attributes of a fitting family include “have courage and be kind” (and a pinch of patience surely doesn’t hurt).
