Amunique & Alisha: Thankful for forever families

With visions of pumpkin pie still dancing in our minds, this week we remain thankful for the many forever families created through adoption – and for the opportunity to share another segment in hopes of helping find the permanent place for sisters Amunique (born 2006, pictured on the left) and Alisha (2009, pictured on the right) to call home!

And with all of our minds in a place of thankfulness, these girls helped gather a seasonal harvest of decorative pumpkins, corn and gourds that help re-tell the tale of the very first Thanksgiving.

Big sister Amunique loves to read and one of her favorite authors is Maya Angelou. She is a spontaneous and fun-loving girl who articulates her thoughts very well. Amunique likes to be in front of the camera and is quite natural there. Amunique is still working through some issues of loss, including from when she wasn’t with her sister. The girls have been in the child welfare system for a while and only recently were reunited in one home. Amunique enjoys living with her sister and hopes that an adoptive family can keep and raise them together.

Younger sister Alisha is an energetic girl who likes to play outdoors – especially riding bike in the park – and who lets her personality show through her smiley face.  Alisha loves music and singing as well, and although she doesn’t love reading as much as Amunique, Alisha does enjoy listening to a good story when her sister or others read to her. Clearly a free spirit, Alisha enjoys interacting with others and is a joy to be around.

We are seeking experienced parents that will provide guidance and unconditional love to Amunique and Alisha. Some additional siblings are part of Amunique’s and Alisha’s circles of connection, so it will be important for Amunique and Alisha to be able to have some on-going contact with these other siblings. If you have room in your heart and home for Amunique and Alisha, take a gander at this week’s Wednesday’s Child and then give us a call.
