Some lessons are just more fun than others, and this week's Wednesday's Child provided Justin (2003) with both a history and a flying lesson as he spent the day at Tomorrow's Aeronautical Museum with Retired Major Levi Thornhill of the legendary Tuskegee Airman. "There's nothing like flying…there's no other feeling in the world", says Thornhill, who flew as part of the first African-American fighter group in the United States Air Force.
Justin (2003) is energetic, charming and artistic and enjoys skateboarding, drawing, playing video games and building things. Justin shared that he likes to laugh a lot and that his favorite subjects in school are Art and Science. With his interest in science, drawing and building things, the aeronautic aspects of the day were not lost on Justin. But things got really fun when Justin got to show off his skills in the flight simulator!
After the museum tour guided by Thornhill's own personal accounts of life as a Tuskegee Airman and the thrill of being in the control seat of the flight stimulator, Justin was ready to take to the skies. Just in the same way, we are ready to find the family that will guide Justin through new experiences, help him create joyful memories as he continues to write his own history, and provide the structure that will help propel him to success.
