Jemariah (2005) is a creative kid who – when his interest is captured – can zero in on a project and tackle it head on! Jemariah enjoys being outdoors as well, so it was a perfect fit to take this creative kid to Pa's Pumpkin Patch in Long Beach, California where he could roam around, pick out a pumpkin and decorate it in full Halloween glory.
Jemariah is diagnosed with Autism and is receiving services through Regional Center. He is learning to express himself verbally and is able to communicate with some words. Although he usually likes to play solo, Jemariah will occasionally join other children in play. Typically, though, Jemariah is more interested in being around adults and benefits from those who display patience and understanding.
Jemariah is a child who can thrive in a supportive environment with structure and stimulation. He can follow directions on a one-to-one level. He needs a family that understands his challenges and is able to advocate for him.
