With the weather perfect for playing in the park, we met up with this week’s Wednesday’s Child – Dharius (2012) – for some swing-time!
We soon discovered that if this friendly child with a lot of spirit had his way, we may have found ourselves at a Jurassic park as Dharius has a fondness for dinosaurs.
Dharius enthusiastically accepted and accurately identified the T-Rex and Triceratops that we brought for him in a fashion that would make a paleontologist smile. But Dharius also finds joy in the simplest things such as greeting people and making face-to-face human connections.
Dharius is doing well in pre-school and loves learning. Dharius is diagnosed with Spina Bifida and needs a wheelchair for mobility, but he can walk a little with assistance. He’s receiving Regional Center services to address his special needs and is making good progress.
Dharius will continue to qualify for supportive services post-adoption and training and support are available for the family that will dedicate themselves to helping dinosaur-loving Dharius become as dynamic as can be.
