Ida hopes for forever playtime and family time

This week Wednesday’s Child would like to tell you more about Ida (2014), a happy-go-lucky little girl who thrives with independent playtime! Ida is growing and thriving and has a great appetite and a developing palette for a wide range of flavors.

Ida is playful and loves to explore her environment.  She tends to be on the quiet side initially but engages with people and smiles when she is given attention.  Her daily routine is steady and she seems to do well with a schedule. Ida is fascinated by the television and particularly enjoys watching cartoons.

Ida is diagnosed with West Syndrome which is a seizure disorder in young children. Ida’s seizures are under control and she has not had a seizure for several months.  Ida also has other conditions known as GERD, Dysphasia, and Hyperinsulinism (she needs to get her blood checked twice a day for low blood sugar) and she receives medication for these conditions. Ida is highly interactive and is receiving Speech Therapy and Regional Center Early Intervention services.

A loving and caring family that can provide structure and appropriate stimulations to aid in Ida’s developmental growth and that can advocate for her medical needs could make the difference in Ida reaching her full potential. Support and training are available to families wanting to welcome a sweet girl like Ida into their family.
