This week on Wednesday’s Child, meet a sibling set of three who are not always close in proximity to one another but remain close at heart. We met up with Avianna (2002), Apples (2006) and Daniel (2007) at Color Me Mine in Whittier, CA where they had some fun “together time” as well as opportunities to express their individual creative sides.
Avianna is a very amicable and talkative girl who enjoys watching television, playing card games, drawing, doing arts and crafts, and playing handball. Despite some academic challenges, Avianna likes going to school. Avianna and her siblings are of Romanian descent and Avianna is able to speak some Greek.
Apples has a bubbly personality and is also quite a talker, whether she’s engaging those around her in more meaningful conversation or simply chit-chatting away while focusing on an activity at hand. Like her sister, Apples also enjoys arts and crafts – particularly making bracelets, as this fits in with another passion she has: accessorizing!
Daniel tends to be the quieter one among these siblings, which at times comes off as being shy. Daniel is into superheroes – particularly the Power Rangers – and is a budding Dodgers baseball fan. Daniel is also picking up some Spanish as he is exposed to it in his current placement.
All three siblings are currently living in separate foster homes but do have frequent sibling visits. Our goal is to find that one family out there that has the capacity to meet their individual needs while allowing them to grow up together under one roof.
