Steve Seigel is a former healthcare CEO for one of the leading California based medical companies. He's here with the top 5 questions you should be asking yourself when picking a plan:

What type of Plan is right for me?

There are HMO’s, PPO’s , EPO’s and then once you select one you have different levels of premiums to pay, bronze, silver, gold and platinum. Some have lower premiums but higher deductibles, make sure you set a monthly total healthcare budget and find the plan that’s total costs match it!

What procedures does this plan cover?

Some plans have very low premiums that do not cover many services, leaving you paying more in the end! Always make sure to get a list of procedures that are covered! Knowing is everything!

Do you have a favorite doctor you want to see or a recommendation?

picking a plan find out which doctors / hospitals are in or out of your coverage area. Doctors in-network will always be cheaper….If you have a favorite doctor make sure to call them and see if they take your new insurance.

How much did I spend last year???

Total out of pocket expenses for individuals and small plans are at an all-time high, did you hit that number, running a very simple calculation based off last years expenses can help set up the best cost saving plan for you.

Where do I buy insurance if my employer doesn’t offer it or I want to look elsewhere?
