LOS ANGELES, Calif. (FOX 11) - It all started with those crazy cat videos years ago getting millions of views, and now it seems like our pets are getting more social media attention than ourselves. Animals like Grumpy Cat and Jiffpom created millions of followers which resulted in appearance fees and product endorsement deals.
So how can you make your pet a social media star? Colleen Wilson is the founder of Pets On Q, and was on Good Day LA with some tips on making your pet a better animal influencer.
Colleen says, "Sometime viral videos do really really well, and I've had people who have made over $50,000 per video, and there are other times where if you are doing a sponsored promotion, it can be a few thousand per post up to $20,000."
Here are some tips:
- Have a good story or niche
- Find your pet's 'voice'
- Be consistent to that theme
- Make your posts stand out
- Hashtags and consistent posting
