PASADENA, Calif. (FOX 11) - A life changing moment happened for Jeremy Walker back in 2004 when he met Jenn.
The two dated for a couple years, but he says he wasn’t quite ready for the next step in their relationship.
The couple moved on, and Jenn ended up marrying someone else and having a child. He moved to Los Angeles and she moved to the East Coast.
Jeremy says he dated other women, but continuously compared them all to her. For him, Jenn became the one who got away.
Almost a decade after they parted ways, Jeremy said a friend called him from across the country to say he ran into Jenn at a grocery store in Maine.
By 2015, Jenn had separated from her husband, and she was raising her son in Colorado.
Jeremy and Jenn ended up reconnecting and agreed to meet for the first time in almost a decade in Cambria, California.
Jeremy said the connection and attraction was still just as real as it was before, if not more! He also met her son, Rowan, and they became “best friends.”
He also met Jenn’s ex-husband and said they too became friends. Jenn and Rowan ended up moving with Jeremy to Los Angeles and now co-parent Rowan with her ex-husband.
So when Good Day LA reached out to viewers seeking to orchestrate a surprise marriage proposal to someone on live television, Jeremy reached out with their sweet love story.
“It was destiny that our souls were going to connect again. And in this lifetime, now is the time,” he told Good Day LA. “Our story shows that it doesn’t matter who you are, where you come from, what you look like, what color you are, love binds it all. True love crosses all barriers.”
Aiming to capture the proposal live on television, Good Day LA planted hidden cameras at the Langham Huntington hotel in Pasadena to capture the couple's every move.
As they sat down for breakfast at the Terrace restaurant on Valentine's Day, Jenn had no idea her longtime boyfriend had been working with the Good Day LA team to give her the surprise of a lifetime.
"I didn’t sleep all night," he told our cameras moments before popping the question.
Watch the entire moment in the video above (spoiler alert: she said yes).
Congrats, Jeremy and Jenn!
