All of us here at FOX 11 and Good Day L.A. are wishing a warm welcome back to Maria Quiban.
Maria took a leave of absence about 5 months ago to care for her husband, Sean Whitesell who was diagnosed with stage 4 Glioblastoma - a highly malignant and dangerous form of brain cancer in June of 2014.
He battled the complications stemming from the cancer as well as side effects of treatment for many months.
Sean passed on Monday December 28th, 2015 at 2:42a.m. Many well wishes from her family, work family, friends and viewers poured in.
Maria posted a story describing her personal experiences in caring for her husband during his final days. She also wanted people to become more aware of the serious dangers of Glioblastoma. You can read her personal story and view the video here: Maria Quiban's personal story to raise awareness for Glioblastoma.
We are happy to announce that Maria has returned to us here at Good Day LA on Wednesday, March 23rd to talk with us about what she has been up to, and how she has coped with the adjustment of life with her son, Gus after Sean's passing.
I'm so happy to say that I am feeling better and will (slowly) make it back to GDLA Fox 11 Los Angeles TOMORROW!! ;) hope you can join us and share with others for me. xoPosted by Maria Quiban on Tuesday, March 22, 2016
