'Pin-Ups for Vets' fashion show

Gina Elise makes World War II style pin-up calendars to support hospitalized American veterans and deployed troops.

Now she has teamed up with fashion house Voodoo Vixen where part of the money from the dresses will go to help the vets too.

Gina brought three models—all veterans—to show us the fashions.

Watch the video to hear their stories about serving in the military, and to get a close look at the dresses.

The non-profit charitable organization Pin-Ups for Vets and the vintage-inspired fashion brand Voodoo Vixen have joined forces to create a capsule dress collection that will help raise funding to support America’s military heroes.  The capsule collection includes three cocktail dresses and will be part of Voodoo Vixen’s Fall Winter 2015 line.

Pin-Ups for Vets was founded 10 years ago by Gina Elise, who created the idea of producing and selling WWII-style pinup calendars to support hospitalized American veterans and deployed troops. Elise also puts on various fundraising events throughout the year, all with the purpose of serving the Veteran and Military community.
Over the last few years, Voodoo Vixen has donated many of their designs for Elise and her Pin-Ups For Vets Ambassadors, many of whom are Veterans, to wear to in public. These beautiful fashions always garnered lots of attention. According to Voodoo Vixen designer and Los Angeles regional manager, Jennifer Bednar, a dress collaboration with Elise was the next logical step: “Many of us at Voodoo Vixen have loved ones in the military, so the work that Gina does really hits close to home for us,” says Bednar. “The process of designing with Gina has been a joy, and we look forward to sharing the designs with the public.”

To date, Pin-Ups for Vets has donated more than $50,000 worth of state-of-the-art rehab equipment for VA & Military hospitals nationwide, and Elise is equally thrilled to be collaborating with Voodoo Vixen: “We are grateful to Voodoo Vixen for donating 10% of the sales of the dresses back to our nonprofit organization to help us continue with our mission of supporting Veterans and Troops. It's really nice to see when brands want to support a cause and do something to make this world a better place.”

The Pin-Ups for Vets Voodoo Vixen Dress Collection includes the “Madelyn,” a capped-sleeve pencil dress in royal blue Bengaline; the “Carissa,” a sparkly flare dress in emerald green sequined lace, and the “Fleur,” a sparkly pencil style dress in the same emerald green sequined lace. (Available in S-XL, the collection ranges from $69-$89 and will be available for purchase at www.VoodooVixen.com beginning November 1st).
