LAUSD students experience Broadway's 'Come From Away'

- The LA Unified School District has one of the highest concentrations of low income students in the state. LA’s Center Theatre Group is giving those students an opportunity to experience the art for free.

The show "Come From Away" is a story about 9-11 and the thousands of airline passengers forced to land in a small town in Newfoundland. Nearly 7,000 strangers were welcomed, and each one has a story. One of the stories is about American Airlines first female captain Beverley Bass. Her plane was diverted that day.

For more information about the Centre Theatre group, visit their Facebook, Twitter, or website.

Come From Away is playing at the Ahmanson Theatre through January 6th. For tickets, please visit Centre Theatre Group's website.

Actor Becky Gulsvig plays Beverley and she is on Good Day LA to perform the song, “Me and the Sky”.
