Team Rubicon CEO on helping vets transition from military to civilian life

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (FOX 11) - Jake Wood, Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps with deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan as a Scout Sniper, founded Team Rubicon based in Los Angeles.

The organization works to unite the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders to rapidly deploy emergency response teams to disasters nationally and internationally.

The Team Rubicon fellowship program help veterans transition from military to civilian life.

Three things veterans lose when they leave the military, and how they help vets re-gain these in civilian life:

Within Team Rubicon - The Clay Hunt Fellows Program is a 12-month leadership and training program providing veterans with the skills necessary to transition to civilian workforce. The program honors Clay Hunt, the decorated Marine Veteran who took his own life due to PTSD.

Hickey Freeman Heroes & Leaders program - a paid internship program that trains veterans in aspects of apparel production and administration. Hickey Freeman will donate suits to The Clay Hunt Fellows, Veterans on Wall Street (VOWS) and veteran career readiness organization, Four Block.

Jake has teamed up with Hickey Freeman, the menswear designer, to donate suits to veterans transitioning to the civilian workforce. Hickey Freeman is also featuring veterans and military officers in its fall ad campaign.
