Lili Bernard speaks out on allegedly being raped by Bill Cosby

California is just one signature away from eliminating its statute of limitations for prosecuting rape cases.

The "Statute of Limitations" is the deadline for filing a lawsuit. In our state, a plaintiff has 10 years to file - except on murder.

When that time runs out...the legal claim is no longer valid.

Several women who say Bill Cosby raped them testified before the state senate in support of the 'Justice For Victims Act'. The senate unanimously approved the bill on Tuesday. The assembly did the same last week.

It is now up to Governor Jerry Brown to sign it.

One of those women who testified is actor and visual artist, Lili Bernard.

She met Bill Cosby decades ago when she was a guest star in the final season of 'The Cosby Show'. She considered him her 'mentor'.

That was before he allegedly drugged and raped her.

Cosby has repeatedly denied the accusation made by dozens of women around the country.

Lili Bernard was here with us to discuss what happened.
